Rainwater Harvesting

Fresh Water is a valuable resource with rising populations and Global Warming making reliability of supply uncertain. Using energy on unnecessary production of potable water for non-drinking purposes is wasteful when there is a simple solution.

A typical person in the UK will use around 150 litres of water per day which will be made up as follows:-

  • Flushing WCs
  • Showering and bathing
  • Laundry and dishwashing
  • Carwash/garden
  • Drinking

Most of that does not need to be potable, which means that rainwater is ideal for most of our water usage.

Fresh, potable water which is provided by your local water authority, is becoming increasingly expensive and will continue to do so as the population grows and the demand per person rises.

So it makes sense to harvest rainwater and use it.
